Chair of Surgery Opportunity at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group seeks a board-certified surgeon to join and lead our Surgery Department at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

The incoming candidate will be a clinical, academic and administrative leader at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.

Lead a multidisciplinary group of 60–70 employed surgeons with roughly 150 total, including affiliates.
Join a nationally recognized leader in surgical care, medical excellence and patient safety, as it continues to add advanced technologies and experienced specialists.
Be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the management and delivery of quality surgical services at SFHMC and affiliated outpatient clinics.
In collaboration with the staff/senior leadership team, the chair will have a focus on growing the service lines within the department. The chair provides visionary leadership that enhances existing programs and drives the development of new initiatives.
The incoming chair will be afforded a flexible schedule with a combination of roughly 60% clinical and 40% administrative/academic time.  
Teach, mentor, lecture and provide overall leadership with medical students (UConn and Quinnipiac), residents (UConn General Surgery residents) and fellows (Trinity Health Fellowship Programs, including Colon Rectal Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery).

The successful candidate should have:

At least five years of administrative leadership experience.
Interest in a mix of clinical, teaching and administrative responsibilities.
Board certification in specialty (the position is open to General Surgery and/or other surgical specialties with a General Surgery training pathway).
License in Connecticut.
US ACGME residency training.
